The basics of Metal

OK. Now that my Internet connection has been set up, we can get to business. First, let's define what we are facing. We are trying to make:
1) A new casting system. This involves the basic rules, meaning terms to be used, and most important a division of songs into categories( the equivalent of schools, subschools and the rest)
2)Classes and prcs. That's the easy part. Two classes: a magic guitar wielder and a full caster. We'll come up later with prcs.
3)The songs themselves. I was hoping to include as many as 250 songs from at least 80 bands. I guess the only way to do this is go to the CD shop and start noting band and song names. OMG
4)Magic Items. No comment.
5)Monsters. I have no idea what to do here.
6)Campaigns. An easy part if someone sits down to write adventures and stuff.
Tell me if you are in agreement so we can proceed with the rules.
